What are we looking for?

TCHC is looking for an experienced MIS Officer to really take the lead on our systems and work with our teams to make sure they have the data they need.

Your job is to make sure that our systems, information, and data are maintained and to work with teams to support them in collating information including analysis of data.

Essential Requirements for the Role

  • Must have a teaching qualification such as PTLLS/AET or equivalent
  • Confident with 1-1 and group delivery
  • Flexible travel for face-to-face teaching as post holder must be able to travel in Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. As well as be comfortable teaching live online sessions

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • To deliver 1:1 and group based training to learners both face-to-face and online
  • Prepare, plan and deliver quality teaching and learning to ensure timely completion in line with company procedures and timescales
  • Assess learners and provide progress feedback to learners and provide support to ensure they meet their set goal/target
  • Support learners to pass through Gateway into end-point assessment
  • Ensure learners complete their online induction within 12 weeks of starting their apprenticeship

  • Ensure that your outlook calendar is always updated as per company guidelines
  • Respond to learners and employers timely and within 48 hours of receipt

Lesson Planning

  • Create effective schemes of works that clearly supports the learning process of individuals

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Liaising with different programme managers to understand if any unemployed candidates can be suitable for an apprenticeship
  • Create a hot list for apprenticeship level candidates who reside out of our current vacancy area to advertise to new prospective employers
  • Actively make business development calls to advertise hot list candidates
  • Delivering first Class customer service to our Employers and clients
  • Supporting colleagues and working within the broader employer engagement team
  • Building effective relationships with external organisations including Build relationships including DWP, the LEP, Growth Hubs, Chambers of Commerce, ESFA and other agencies that interact with SME employers within Essex including employer, youth and adult representative organisations, Thurrock Unitary Authority and other strategic partners
  • Responding to seasonal trends and be able to forecast recruitment drives

We are seeking a tutor that can bring a fresh perspective to our existing team, to support learner engagement, engender the life-long learning ethos, and provide solutions to the barriers that learners might face throughout their journey.

You will be responsible for planning and teaching the Functional Skills curriculum, as well as differentiation, and will be required to ensure work is marked, recorded, and assessment is on-going, ensuring all learners are ready for examinations.

Your delivery will be creative and engaging to ensure individuals achieve their aims in all subjects. You will be supported by a Quality Assurance Team who is responsible for leading the team to drive up quality, reaching and exceeding KPI's and promoting our ethos for continuous improvement.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Create effective schemes of works that clearly supports the learning process of individuals
  • Prepare and develop innovative lesson plans, designing and delivering group activities
  • Deliver training to individuals and groups following the programme curriculum, setting objectives and targets for achievement
  • Provide one to one support to learners where necessary
  • Hold a manageable caseload of learners
  • Diagnose learner’s literacy, numeracy and ICT needs and requirements by using various diagnostic testing and mock tests
  • Liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress into appropriate outcomes
  • Provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to help them progress
  • Prepare and submit up-to-date assessments of learners, across all relevant activities
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate paperwork, reviews, records of progress tracking and to report all cases of learner behavioural issues, sickness and absence
  • Prepare for and attend monthly caseload review meetings with your line manager
  • Provide learners with all relevant policies and regulations to clarify what is expected of them and to ensure their safety
  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with other external organisations involved with the service and learners
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement and self-assessments and the implementation of subsequent action plans
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales to ensure that contract requirements are met and funding is maximised and revenue is secured

We are looking for an experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) who will, working alongside existing IQA staff, support the TCHC Group delivery to ensure that Tutors and Centre Managers are working to the highest of standards and meeting all the requirements to successfully achieve their learners on programme.

Travel is essential for this role.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Work with the Curriculum and Quality Manager to ensure the Quality Assurance (QA) strategy is fully implemented across the TCHC Group in terms of, but not restricted to; IQA Sample Planning, Standardisation, Observations of Teaching, Learning and Assessment, Site Support Visits, Coaching, CPD and Customer Service Calls.

As an IQA you are required to carry out the following duties in the context of TCHC’s policies and practices, particularly Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection:

Monitoring and Continual Improvement

  • Undertake regular CPD and record it using company documents.
  • Visit offices and centres to conduct quality assurance checks and provide advice and suggestion for improvement.
  • Undertake qualifications where suitable as part of your own learning and development.
  • Check Schemes of Works as required.
  • Work with teaching staff to ensure learners complete timely.
  • Prepare teaching staff risk bandings in line with company requirements.
  • Attend any training and meetings as required including external events.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding (including Prevent) the welfare of all learners for whom you have responsibility for or with whom you come into contact with and adhere to TCHC’s Safeguarding and Prevent policies.
  • Carry out compliance checks on learner reviews and other vital documentation relating to the learner journey.
  • Ensure that quality cycles are followed.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that the centres make progress towards agreed tasks set in the quality improvement plan.
  • Contribute to the company self-assessment process.  
  • Participate in audits, centre mock inspections and deep dives as required. 
  • Review support provided to SEND learners and those with an EHCP to work with teams to ensure the learner receives the best possible experience.
  • Work with key stakeholders to monitor learner progress and intervene where there is cause for concern.

Sampling

  • Carry out customer service calls to learners and employers to gain feedback on the quality of education they receive.
  • Maintain IQA Sampling Plans to cover all qualifications and teaching staff.
  • Carry out regular summative and formative sampling as required.

Support

  • Provide teaching staff with recorded support based on their training needs.

Observations

  • Carry out Observations of teaching, learning and assessment as required and keep tracking systems updated.
  • Ensure observation development plan tasks are completed timely.
  • Work closely with centre teams to encourage and challenge them to improve over time.
  • Promote peer to peer observations where possible.

Standardisations

  • Book standardisations according to the standardisation planner, well in advance of the meetings.
  • Prepare standardisation agendas and send out at least 1 week prior to the meeting.
  • Chair standardisation meetings and take minutes.

Surveys

  • Ensure that staff complete standardisation surveys following meetings and review the data to improve their experience for next time.
  • Check learner, parent/carer, local authority, and partner surveys, share success and make recommendations of how improvements can be made.

Awarding bodies/Funders/OFSTED

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with and research updates to qualification specifications and handbooks for subjects quality assured.
  • Participate in OFSTED inspections as required.
  • Be very familiar with key company policies.
