Who are we looking for?

Qualifications:

  • 603/6506/7 Level 1 Award in Hospitality and Catering

We are looking for an experienced Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) who will, working alongside existing IQA staff, support all the TCHC Group delivery working across different programs and provision to ensure that Learning Coaches/Tutors are working to the highest of standards and meeting all the requirements to successfully achieve their learners on programme.

Travel is essential for this role.

 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Work with the Quality Manager to ensure the Quality Assurance (QA) strategy is fully implemented across the TCHC Group in terms of, but not restricted to; IQA Sample Planning, Support Visits, Coaching etc.

As an IQA you are required to carry out the following duties in the context of TCHC’s policies and practices, particularly Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection:

Monitoring and Continual Improvement

  • Undertake regular CPD and record it using company documents.
  • Check Schemes of Works as required.
  • Attend any training and meetings as required including external events.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding (including Prevent) the welfare of all learners for whom you have responsibility for or with whom you come into contact with and adhere to TCHC’s Safeguarding and Prevent policies.
  • Ensure that quality cycles are followed.

Sampling

  • Carry out customer service calls to learners and employers to gain feedback on the quality of education they receive.
  • Maintain IQA Sampling Plans to cover all qualifications and teaching staff.
  • Carry out regular summative and formative sampling as required.

Support

  • Provide teaching staff with recorded support based on their training needs.

Awarding bodies/Funders/OFSTED

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Be familiar with and research updates to qualification specifications and handbooks for subjects quality assured.

TCHC Group, established 18 years ago, delivers adult skills; employability; youth study programmes; community programmes and apprenticeships. In 2021, we commenced work on the governments Restart Programme supporting unemployed residents across Aylesbury Vale to return to employment. TCHC staff work to achieve our company vision to ‘Successfully improve the lives of the individuals we work with’ and our Restart Team have so far supported over 200 unemployed people into employment.

What are we looking for?

TCHC is looking for a passionate individual to work with our Restart Programme participants who have been out of work for at least 12 months, to find sustainable employment. The ECs role is to identify and support any barriers to employment that participants may have; agree solutions to resolve barriers and conduct work focussed activities to ensure participants enter work within a 12-month period of starting on the programme.

The EC will manage a caseload of participants, ensuring they are supported and challenged appropriately to move towards lasting and meaningful employment. Following a diagnostic assessment, they will work through a comprehensive action plan with the participant to give them additional skills, identify transferrable skills and capabilities and building their confidence to return to sustainable employment.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Building effective and positive relationships with participants, working collaboratively and challenging them to identify and overcome any potential barriers preventing them from returning to work.
  • Conducting a diagnostics assessment with all participants to assess job readiness and the appropriate level of support required on the customer journey throughout time on programme.
  • Partnering with the participant to create a comprehensive action plan to identify appropriate career opportunities, identify any employment related barriers and the actions required to progress towards sustainable employment.
  • Understanding the internal and external information, advice and guidance available to support participants with debt concerns, mental health conditions or career coaching and signposting as required.
  • Ensuring that participants have an up to date and professional CV and, supporting statement and covering letter, tailored appropriately for each application.
  • Providing job search support, guiding participants to register on appropriate jobs boards and ensuring their digital profiles are up to date and visible to employers.
  • Providing industry specific training and development, based on relevant sector experience.
  • Working in partnership with the internal Employer Engagement team and relevant external employment support services to identify appropriate job opportunities.
  • Supporting participants in preparing for job interviews, conducting mock interviews and assessment activity.
  • To ensure clients have access to workshop options based on individual diagnostics and tailored support (inc. health, mental health, transferable skills, job searching, cv writing, interview skills).
  • To work with pace and urgency – planning and forecasting ahead and discussing next steps on a weekly / monthly basis.
  • Meet and exceed all monthly performance targets and Key Performance Indicators, seeking feedback and input to continuously improve and deliver strong outcomes for our participants and commissioners.
  • To maintain quality client records on the database so that they outline the client’s journey on the programme.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding (including Prevent) the welfare of all participants for whom you have responsibility for or with whom you come into contact with and adhere to TCHC’s Safeguarding and Prevent policies.

Skills & Attributes

  • Experience of working in welfare to work – or in similair performance target driven environments, such as recruitment, business to business sales or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, evolving environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • An adept communicator with the ability to persuade, influence and listen to others.
  • Ability to be flexible, open, and creative in problem solving.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and adapt to client needs and communication to inspire, motivate and challenge participants.
  • Knowledge of the labour market, wider provision, and stakeholders local to the area in which you are applying.
  • Able to effectively network to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
  • High level digital literacy skills, and data accuracy skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and web-based communication technologies.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage a busy schedule/workload under pressure.

  • Ability to follow and comply with contractual requirements alongside the ability to understand and adhere to GDPR.

TCHC is looking for a Learning support Assistant who will be creative and engaging to ensure individuals of SEND achieve their qualification(s) and work efficiently across the team. You will be supported by your Centre Manager who is responsible for leading the team to drive up quality, reaching and exceeding KPI's and promoting our ethos for continuous improvement.

Working with individuals who may present challenges, your delivery will be creative and engaging to ensure individuals achieve their aims in all subjects. You will be supported by a Centre manger and Quality Team who is responsible for leading the team to drive up quality and promoting an ethos of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to DTLLS/Cert Ed/ PGCE (or equivalent), desirable
  • Learning support qualification or willing to work towards

Skills syllabus This will include:

  • Functional Skills English Entry Level 1 to Level 2
  • Functional Skills Maths Entry Level 1 to Level 2

As a learning support assistant, you will be responsible for supporting SEND learners in all subjects undertaken whilst also supporting the tutors.

Working with individuals who may present challenges, who have struggled in education and have learning needs that require creativity and imagination to ensure they can progress and achieve.

Your support will be creative and engaging to help individuals achieve their aims in all subjects. You will be supported by a Quality Team who is responsible for leading the team to drive up quality, reaching and exceeding KPI's and promoting an ethos of continuous improvement

Main Tasks & Responsibilities  

  • To have formal and informal meetings with tutors to contribute to planning lessons / activities.
  • To prepare materials and resources.
  • To prepare students beforehand for a task.
  • To work on differentiated activities with identified groups.
  • To support the tutor in implementing specific teaching programmes.
  • To contribute towards delivery and resource development for functional skills in English, Maths and ICT
  • To supervise practical tasks.
  • To carry out structured classroom assessment/ observation and feedback.
  • To be involved in keeping records and evaluating identified students’ progress Support the creation of individual learning plans.
  • Support learners in all lessons and around the centre
  • Provide one to one support to learners where necessary
  • Act as a key worker to specific learners through their learning
  • Diagnose learner’s literacy, numeracy and ICT needs and requirements by using various diagnostic testing and mock tests
  • Liaise with relevant team members to ensure learners achieve their targets and progress into appropriate outcomes
  • Read and analyse EHCP’s ensuring you identify the learning needs of the individual, while ensuring the correct resources are in place for individuals
  • Manage behaviour effectively within sessions ensuring sessions can continue
  • Provide appropriate encouragement, guidance and support to learners to help them progress
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate paperwork, reviews, records of progress tracking and to report all cases of learner behavioural issues, sickness and absence
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Take proactive approaches to ensure Safeguarding and Prevent is embedded into the delivery and ensure issues are raised accordingly, in line with TCHC’s Safeguarding Policy using the appropriate recording and reporting tools.
  • Any complaints are raised accordingly in line with TCHC’s Complaints Policy
  • Act as an ambassador for TCHC Ltd at all times, providing key information to all parties involved within the learner journey
  • Create conducive learning environments to optimise learners’ journey and support positive outcomes
  • Actively ensure own CPD is kept up to date as per the requirements for your subject area

  • Establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with other external organisations involved with the service and learners
