Retailer Level 2

The main purpose of a Retailer is to assist customers when they purchase products and services. It requires a good understanding of the stock, the variety of ways customers can shop and the ability to process payments.

The Retailer Apprenticeship looks at the skills needed to be successful in retail and helps to deliver these skills. This includes how to motivate someone to purchase, completing sales and understanding customers.

The Retailer Apprenticeships is suitable for all areas of retail including supermarkets, fashion boutiques, department stores, and more specialist areas such DIY, garden centres and funeral directors.

The Apprenticeship was developed by the retail sector to meet the varied requirements of knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to be successful in the industry.

  • Successful completion of the Apprenticeship will lead to NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Retail Knowledge and NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Retail Skills.
  • Functional Skills Level 1 English and Maths will also need to be attained if you do not already have an equivalent qualification.
  • Length of programme is a minimum of 12 months

  • This Apprenticeship provides an ideal stepping-stone into specialist, team leading, supervisory or first line management roles within retail and higher-level training and Apprenticeships such as Retail Team Leader Level 3.

Retail Team Leader Level 3

The Retail Team Leader qualification enhances skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to support managers and build strong teams. It helps deliver exceptional customer service and a positive experience for customers. It will enable the development of skills needed to deputise for managers.

  • Successful completion of the Apprenticeship will lead to NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Retail Skills.
  • Functional Skills Level 2 English and Maths will also need to be attained if you do not already have an equivalent qualification.
  • Length of programme is a minimum of 12 months
