TCHC nominated as a finalist in the CMI National Management & Leadership

on 29 September 2010.

TCHC has been selected as a finalist in The National Management & Leadership Awards. The highly respected Awards recognise those individuals, teams and organisations that are pushing the boundaries of excellence. TCHC is on a shortlist along with four other companies for an Award for Green Leadership.

The awards will celebrate those organisations which have achieved real success during the past 18 months, as a result of exemplary management and leadership. They will also recognise employers dedicated to supporting the professional development of future generations of managers.

The award winners will be announced at a dinner on the 14th October at the Royal Garden Hotel in London, where the prestigious CMI Gold Medal Award will be presented as part of the evening.

Dale Morgan, CEO at TCHC is delighted to have reached the finals for this prestigious award. He said, “We have fought off stiff competition from companies of all sizes throughout the UK to gain a place as a finalist. TCHC is passionate about being a responsible and environmentally considerate employer. Through maximising the use of technology we have been able to drastically reduce our carbon footprint. The online systems, telephone support and the use of remote advisers, who are assigned to clients by geographical proximity, have reduced our travel by a staggering 50% - saving thousands of miles in travel each month.”

Dale continued, “TCHC also operate in an environmentally friendly office in a ‘green business park’ and has an active policy of encouraging staff to recycle and minimise other environmental costs. We also blog on green issues (http://www.tchc.net/blog/38-business-operations/226-are-british-businesses-thinking-enough-about-green-issues) to create interest and debate.”

“The implementation and operation of green policies allows us to be a responsible corporate citizen, cut cost, increase profits and maximise productivity.”

At the beginning of the year, organisations from across the UK were invited to enter the nine categories, irrespective of the size of the business or the sector in which they operate. Their applications underwent intense scrutiny by nine separate panels of experts tasked with choosing a winner. The judges considered aspects including how the organisations are structured, their integrity and sustainability, and their financial successes.

Ruth Spellman, Chief Executive of CMI, said: “The future wealth and prosperity of UK plc is dependent upon a competitive and determined mindset, executed through strong leadership and management. It is tremendously encouraging to see so many strong, tangible examples of the impact that excellent management and leadership has had on the success of these organisations shortlisted. The CMI National Management & Leadership Awards scheme is intended to raise the bar when it comes to management and leadership excellence. Those who have made it to this stage of the competition can feel justifiably proud that they are leading the field, and should be looked to as examples for others to follow.”

Mike Faulkner, awards director, said: “In today’s tough economic climate, management and leadership skills have never been more important, and it is encouraging to see that positivity and the winning spirit is still thriving among the business community, in the months that follow, those individuals and organisations on the NML Award shortlist will become the benchmark for companies to measure their capabilities, helping to drive up the management standards in the UK.”

TCHC has a wealth of experience in the field of workforce and talent development, helping over 45,000 businesses to develop tailored support packages that have, for many, improved morale, productivity and turnover.
