Community Grants Project Focus: Rise
Rise, who received funding through TCHC’s Community Grants project, is a new service-user led social enterprise. Through the funding RISE is able to offer, 12 people affected by mental health problems who are looking to return to work, job-skills training and practical work placements, at its offices at The Old Free School in Watford. A further 12 people will follow the University-accredited Recovery In-Sight training to enable them to manage their mental health condition.
TCHC helps to support communities with funding
TCHC is currently working with 34 Community and Voluntary organisations that are running projects to support unemployed and economically inactive people to move closer to employment and mainstream training. Apprenticeships: Cable guarantees quality, slashes red tape and delivers cash boost for firms
As part of the Government’s plan for growth, Ministers are taking action to make it easier for companies to take on apprentices, and ensure that the quality of apprenticeships is continually improved. He told businesses in London today that the Government would slash the red tape that can deter hard pressed firms from taking on apprentices, and provide a financial incentive to help the smallest firms recruit their first young apprentices.
TCHC helps to minimize the impact of redundancy
Following the release of the latest labour market statistics, it is clear that redundancy is still affecting many businesses in the current economic climate, regardless of sector.
But help is still available until mid December this year to support the employees of businesses that are faced with redundancy, thanks to workforce development specialists TCHC. The company’s Response to Redundancy programme assists businesses to give their staff a head start in finding new employment. The package includes advice, guidance and re-training opportunities to help individuals prepare for a new job, a new career path or a business start-up after redundancy.
